We would like to thank everyone for joining us this weekend and making our 35th year an amazing one! There are so many we are thankful for: The thousands of people who came to be a part of the festival, the wonderful vendors, local businesses & organizations, our local law enforcement & emergency personel, the local media, our classic car show organizers and participants, our balloonists and their crews as well as the musicians that entertained us.
We would also like to extend a very special thank you to the Dansville Festival of Balloons Committee for their tireless efforts year after year to bring this amazing event to our community and Western NY as a whole. Your dedication and countless hours of work are truly appreciated. Thank you all!

This event is organized and staffed solely by community volunteers. In 1997 the Dansville Balloon Festival was designated as the New York State Festival of Balloons. The festival features:
- Six scheduled launches beginning Friday, 6 PM, Saturday and Sunday 6 AM & 6 PM, Monday 6 AM
- Arts & Crafts Vendors
- International Food Court
- Free Entertainment
- Rides & Amusements for children
- Car Show
Free Balloon GLOW on Thursday beginning at 7 PM.
The goal of the festival is to provide entertainment and enjoyment to our spectators, bring visitors to our community, and share our profits with local charities. Over the years an average of 35,000 spectators per year visit our valley to enjoy the festival.
The success of prior festivals made it possible to share profits with local charities and organizations.
The beauty of an early morning flight is breathtaking as balloons gracefully float over our valley. The thrill of a mass evening launch is a real crowd pleaser. For those passengers taking their first flight, wonderful thoughts and memories will long endure.
Though we are one of the largest events of its type, The New York Festival of Balloons, is a great deal more than hot air balloons. Take a look at the SCHEDULE OF EVENTS for this coming Labor Day Weekend and you will agree that there is something for everyone all weekend long at the N.Y.S.F.O.B.
NO DOGS/PETS ALLOWED ON FESTIVAL GROUNDS.
NO COOLERS- NO ALCOHOL

Hare and Hound Competition 2012
The hare balloon shown in the lower left of picture placed a big X on ground. The other balloons had a challenge to fly by and drop a bean bag on the X to see who would come the closest.
